Capacitive Voltage Probe

Capacitive Voltage Probe

This probe is used to measure the voltage of common-mode disturbances conducted along cables. The cable to be measured is clamped in the probe, which is hinged. We use the capacitance between the cable and inner electrode of the probe to obtain measurement of the voltage on the wires in the cable without coming into contact with them. This probe operates over a wide frequency range with any type of cable.

Characteristics

Based on CISPR Pub. 22 (1997 Annex C).

Provide for the easy measurement, without contact with wires, of common-mode disturbance voltages in multi-wired cable,
 which are not measurable by using an impedance stabilizing network (ISN).

Application of this test device is safe and has no effect on the transmission process of the equipment under test.

The active circuit used in the device covers a wide frequency range (10 kHz—30MHz)

Calculating highly accurate calibration factors for a cable to be qualified in advance of applying the separately available and highly accurate "device", so that we can precisely measure the frequency characteristics of cables of various types and sizes.
